Spare parts quality. Genuine.

Genuine

This term is used for parts that come from the same manufacturer as the machine. The parts can come from different OEM manufacturers.

Example: For a truck of brand X, the fuel pump is also supplied in a package of brand X, even if the pump is manufactured by Y.

Original

This term is used for parts that come directly from the original manufacturer of the part and must be completely identical to the genuine part (except for the packaging).

Example: For a brand X truck, the same fuel pump will be supplied but in brand Y packaging, and it will be identical to the one supplied by X, same quality.

Sometimes there are several OEM spare parts. This occurs when a manufacturer produces its equipment with several different parts, depending on the market situation.

Example: Manufacturer X uses a brand Y pump as standard, but in case of supply shortages they use an equivalent brand Z pump that has the same part number because it is interchangeable).

This term is often used for parts that are identical or compatible to the genuine original part. However, they are not from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Example: A dealer supplies a fuel pump for a brand X truck without giving any information about the origin or brand of the fuel pump supplied. However, it must be suitable for this truck.
